WITH a second season of its family series A Series of Unfortunate Events slated for release in 2018, Netflix has already ordered a third one, according to a Variety report.
In March, Netflix announced that it planned to launch a second season of its series starring Neil Patrick Harris at the beginning of 2018. Less than a month later, specialist websites are talking about a third season, which logically would consist of ten episodes to air the following year, in 2019.
Netflix has not yet confirmed that there will be a third season, rumours of which have been leaked early in the creative process, as the next ten are still at the writing stage. That said, these reports do not come as a big surprise. The first season covered the first four volumes of the novels written by Daniel Handler using the pseudonym Lemony Snicket. The second season will cover the next five. There would therefore be three volumes left, which could be used for the third (and logically final) season.
Launched in January 2017, A Series of Unfortunate Events tells the story of three orphans, Violet, Klaus and Sunny, whose evil guardian Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) will do anything to lay his hands on their fortune. — AFP Relaxnews
