KULAI – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) must grab the chance to introduce and upgrade studies in technological areas to meet the need for skilled workforce in the country.
Permaisuri Johor Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah said this was important to ensure that the country especially Johor remains relevant and competitive in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
“If we want to succeed in digital innovations and the world of connectivity, we have to grab all opportunities to learn technological knowledge. This is because there is an urgent need to integrate technology into tertiary studies to support teaching and learning in the 21st century,”she said.
Raja Zarith Sofiah who is UTM Chancellor said this in her speech when officiating the 2018 11th Language for Specific Purposes International Conference and 10th Global Advances in Business Communication Conference ’ (LSP-GABC) here today.
Raja Zarith Sofiah said the work styles today must stress creativity, innovation, critical thinking, ability to solve problems and make effective decisions.
She added that communication skills were also important today especially interpersonal skills in the workplace. – BERNAMA
