KUALA PILAH – The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today led the list of 812 recipients of awards from Negeri Sembilan in conjunction with the 67th birthday of the Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir.
His Royal Highness was conferred the Darjah Kerabat Negeri Sembilan (DKNS).
The investiture ceremony took place at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, near here.
Two recipients of the Darjah Seri Utama Negeri Sembilan (SUNS) which carries the title of “Datuk Seri Utama” were former Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Hashim Aman, and former vice-chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Tan Sri Dr Mohd Rashdan Baba, who is also former vice-chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The sole recipient of the Darjah Seri Setia Tuanku Muhriz Yang Amat Terbilang (SSTM) was Tengku Syarif Bendahara of Perlis, Datuk Seri Di-Raja Syed Badarudin Jamalullail Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek and the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Sime Darby Bhd Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh received the Darjah Seri Setia Negeri Sembilan Yang Amat Cemerlang (SSNS), which carries the title, “Datuk Seri”.
This was the first time the SSNS award is being introduced.
Two state executive council members, Tun Hairudin Abu Bakar and L.Manickam, were among 12 recipients of the Darjah Datuk Paduka Negeri Sembilan (DPNS) which carries the title, “Datuk”.
The other recipients of the DPNS include the secretary-general of the International Rubber Research and Development Board Datuk Dr Abdul Aziz Sheikh Ab. Kadir, Negeri Sembilan legal adviser Iskandar Ali Dewa and Maybank group president and CEO, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias.
Luak Ulu Muar penghulu Mansor Yusof and Luak Terachi penghulu Mohamad Nasir Nordin were among six recipients of the Darjah Setia Tuanku Muhriz Yang Amat Gemilang (DSTM) which carries the title of “Datuk”.
Among the 25 people conferred the Darjah Setia Bakti Negeri Sembilan (DBNS) which also carries the title of “Datuk”, were Johor Audit Department director Abd Wahab Ahmad, Mardi deputy director-general Dr Azizan Ab Rashid, Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Department director Selamat Paigo and Penang Criminal Investigation Department chief, SAC Mazlan Kesah.
Also receiving the DBNS were former athlete and national athletics coach Anthony Edwin Abraham, UKM deputy vice-chancellor Prof Ir Dr Riza Atiq Abdullah Orang Kaya Rahmat and Selangor police contingent headquarters’ ManagementÂ Department head, SAC Hasanuddin Hassan.
Forty-three people were awarded the Darjah Setia Negeri Sembilan (DNS), including Gemencheh assemblyman Mohd Isam Mohd Isa, former director of the Negeri Sembilan Public Library Samsudin Hamidan, Paroi assemblyman Mohd Ghazali Abd. Wahid and Negeri Sembilan Malaysian Ex-Servicemen’s Association (PBTM) president, Major (Rtd) Sazali Ismail.
The sole recipient of the Darjah Tuanku Muhriz (DTM) was chief executive of the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS), Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan.
Meanwhile, 16 people received the Darjah Pekerti Terpilih (DPT), 94 the Ahli Setia Negeri Sembilan (ANS) including Bernama chief sub-editor (Bahasa Malaysia) Rohana Mustaffa, and two others, the Setiawan Tuanku Muhriz (STM).
There were 223 recipients of the Pingat Khidmat Cemerlang Masyarakat (PMC), 353 the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), 22 the Pingat Khidmat Lama (PKL) and nine the Bentara Tuanku Muhriz (BTM). – BERNAMA
