KUALA LUMPUR – The police have remanded seven men for a week to assist in the investigation into the death of two brothers who are believed to have been hacked with a machete and bludgeoned with a baseball bat after attending a birthday celebration at an apartment in Section 19, Petaling Jaya, near here, yesterday.

Petaling Jaya District Police deputy chief Supt Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said all of them were remanded from today until Feb 18 to assist the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“We are still looking for more people to assist the investigation,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

At 2.30 am yesterday, the brothers, aged 36 and 44, were said to have joined more than 20 other people at a tent set up on the ground floor of the apartment after the birthday party for drinks.

They are believed to have entered into an argument with some other guests, leading to a violent encounter, which resulted in their deaths. – BERNAMA
