ALOR SETAR – The 32 people detained by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in Kedah between January and July this year included five policemen.
Kedah MACC director Datuk Mohd Fauzi Muhammad said 10 policemen were among 49 people detained in the same period last year.
“As for other enforcement personnel, we recorded three arrests this year compared to five last year,” he said after 600 police officers and personnel led by Kedah deputy police chief DCP Sahabuddin Abd Manan uttered the corruption-free pledge at the state police contingent headquarters here today.
He said MACC made the arrests based on reports or intelligence received.
“MACC is not making the police a target; we will also investigate when a report is lodged against any other enforcement department or agency,” he said. – BERNAMA
