KOTA KINABALU – Five children were stung by jellyfish in two separate incidents at the Tanjung Aru public beach.
Sabah Civil Defence Department director Kol Mulliadi al-Hamdi said the children were swimming at the beach when they suddenly felt pain on their bodies.
The first incident at 12.30pm involved Mohd Harish Hafsham, eight, and Nurhana Batrisya Md Hisham, five.
Mohd Harish was stung on his abdomen, chest, left arm and back and Nurhana on her arm and feet.
The second case was at 2.40pm and involved brothers Mohd Afiq Syahmi Aziz, 12, Mohd Afif Danis Aziz, 10, and their cousin Rafiqi Aishy Ramadan, six, who were all stung on their backs and chest.
Kol Mulliadi said the children received first aid before being taken to hospital and are now in stable condition. – The Star Online
