KUANTAN: Â More than 5,000 jobs are up for grabs at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 2016 Career Carnival, which will take place over two days beginning this Friday at Dewan Astaka of UMP’s Gambang campus.
UMP’s assistant vice-chancellor (Industry and Community Development) Prof Dr Zulkefli Yaacob said the carnival would enable final year students as well as those looking for jobs to obtain more information about the criteria required by the respective industries.
“The two-day programme is being participated by 40 companies, who are providing employment opportunities to meet the needs of skilled manpower in their respective sectors.
“Throughout the programme, candidates would be able to receive guidance through various activities planned, including helping them prepare for interviews,” he said in a statement here, Tuesday.
He said among the companies involved were Talentcorp Malaysia Sdn Bhd, SIRIM, Polyplastics Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, Great Eastern Life Assurance (M) Sdn Bhd, Motorola Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd, Telekom Malaysia, Muehlbaeur Technologies Sdn Bhd and UMP Holdings Sdn Bhd.
The programme, which will be held from 9am to 4.30pm, is open to all UMP students and those from the surrounding communities looking for jobs, and they only need to bring their resumes and register themselves in order to be interviewed by the companies and agencies involved.
