KUCHING – A third body has been found in Lingga, Batang Lupar following the copter crash on Thursday.
Home minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tweeted at around 11.45 that the third body has been found.
“The third body has been found in Lingga. Arrangements to fly it (the body) to the Kuching district police headquarters are underway.
“I am at the Kuching Hospital mortuary, waiting for the arrival of the third body,” he said in his tweets.
Earlier on Saturday one body, believed to be related to the helicopter crash was found in the same area by the search and rescue team and was flown to Kuching on a helicopter.
On Friday, the body of Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Noriah Kasnon was found at the riverbank of Batang Lupar.
She was travelling with her husband Asmuni Abdullah, Kuala Kangsar MP and Malaysian Palm Oil Board member Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad, ministry secretary-general Datuk Dr Sundaran Annamalai and personal bodyguard Ahmad Sobri Harun, as well as the pilot of the flight, Captain Rudolf Rex Ragas. – MyNewsHub/The Star
