SUBANG JAYA: The missing 12-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted by an Indonesian woman on Tuesday were walking aimlessly on the streets of Kuala Lumpur when they were found, say police.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari said the girl was found with the help of the Al-Rahman mosque congregation in Jalan Pantai Baharu, Kuala Lumpur.

“The suspect has also been detained. We were alerted of the discovery at about 9.30pm” he said.

ACP Azlin said prior to the arrest, a man saw two figures walking aimlessly near the mosque, which prompted him to track and identify them.

“He then called the Pantai Baru police station and an MPV was immediately deployed and the investigating officer made his way there,” he said.

ACP Azlin said the woman had tried to check into a hotel but was unable to as she did not have any travelling documents.

He said the abducted girl showed no sign of distress and appeared to have followed the suspect willingly.

“She left a note for her family telling them not to look for her as she wanted to go sightseeing with ‘kakak’,” he said.

Recalling the ordeal, Puteri Nurkyra said she was treated well by the suspect and was given breakfast hours after she was abducted.

“I can’t really explain because I’m still confused by what happened. I just need to sleep,” she said, adding that her abductor was protective of her.

Puteri Nurkyra will be given a full body examination at the Serdang Hospital.

The case has been classified as abduction.

When met at the Subang Jaya police station, the girl’s father said the family was grateful that she was found unharmed.

“We’re so happy to have her back in our arms again,” he said.

The father, who was unidentified, added that his daughter slept in the same room as the suspect prior to the incident.
