SHAH ALAM – A company claimed trial in the Sessions Court here today to charging excessively for a bottle of 500-gram honey at its supermarket.
Trendcell Sdn Bhd, which owned Jaya Grocer Supermarket was represented by its director Ting Pooi Guang, 60.
The company is accused of fixing the price of Sweet Meadow New Zealand Wild Flower Honey at RM43.99 when the price should have been RM28.90.
It allegedly committed the offence at Mutiara Tropicana, Petaling Jaya near here on May 6 last year, at 4.39 pm.
Ting is accused of a similar offence in his capacity as the company’s director.
Judge Ahmad Azhari Abdul Hamid set RM10,000 as bail and May 5 for re-mention.
Deputy public prosecutor A. Kathiyayini appeared for the prosecution while the accused was represented by counsel V. Kalearasu. – BERNAMA
