RIYADH: Riyadh Schools, considered an outstanding and distinguished education institution in Saudi Arabia, has expressed interest in participating in the 2016 PERMATA International Conference scheduled to take place in May.
This follows a discussion here Wednesday between the wife of Malaysian prime minister and PERMATA patron Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Riyadh Schools director-general Abdullrahman Algofaili.
“They’ve indicated their interest not only to attend the conference but also to look into how we can cooperate in the field of education to further improve our respective programmes to bring out the best in our students,” Rosmah said after visiting the school.
With the theme ‘Children Beyond Tomorrow’, the conference is scheduled for May 31 to June 2 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
It aims to create greater awareness and understanding on the development of young individuals and their optimal growth.
During the visit, Rosmah and Abdullrahman took the opportunity to compare notes on their respective institutions and programmes.
Abdullrahman noted that Riyadh Schools was established in 1969 out of the desire among a group of Saudi educators to have a Saudi school of international standard.
It has since established linkages with leading institutions like Harvard University and Real Madrid Academy.
Under Rosmah’s patronage, PERMATA has undertaken initiatives in children’s education and development such as PERMATA Negara, PERMATA Seni, PERMATA Pintar, PERMATA Insan and PERMATA Kurnia.
