PUTRAJAYA – A total of 40,000 secondary and primary school students in 191 UMNO divisions nationwide will receive school aid under the 2016 Bumiputera School Transformation Aid Programme (Best 2016).
The aid, in the form of school bag, stationery and drinking bottle, and involving a total cost of RM2 million, is funded by the Mara Education Foundation (YPM).
The aid will be distributed by UMNO Youth and Puteri leaders in the respective divisions, beginning tomorrow, said UMNO Supreme Council member and Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob after launching the programme today.
He said the programme, now in its second year of running, also involve the education bureaus of UMNO Youth and Puteri UMNO, as well as Pertubuhan Pemikir Muda Malaysia.
Depending on the availability of fund, the programme would be made an annual event to help needy students, he added. – BERNAMA
