KUALA LUMPUR – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah today presented credential letters to four newly appointed Malaysian ambassadors at the Istana Negara here.
The ambassadors-designate were Datuk Zulkifli Adnan as Malaysia’s ambassador to Germany, Datuk Adnan Othman (Austria), Ahmad Rozian Abd Ghani (Kuwait) and Mohamad Nizan Mohamad (North Korea).
Zulkifli, had served in the Foreign Affairs Ministry since 1983 and was Malaysia’s ambassador to Bosnia Herzegovania in 2008 and had also served as the director-general of Maritime Department since 2011.
Adnan was the former ambassador to Cambodia in 2005 and Kuwait in 2011.
Ahmad Rozian, had served as deputy director-general of the Policy Planning and Strategic Department before being appointed as Malaysia’s consul-general in Medan in 2012.
Mohamad Nizan, had served as Charge d’Affaires at the Malaysian Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe in 2010 before he was appointed as Deputy Head of Mission at the Malaysia Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand since 2013.
Earlier, Tuanku Abdul Halim received the credentials of 10 envoys to Malaysia.
They were Myanmar Ambassador U Zaw Myint, New Zealand High Commissioner Dr John Anton Subritzky, Kyrgyzstan Ambassador Kylychbek Sultanov, Bangladesh High Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam and Thailand Ambassador Damrong Kraikruan.
South African High Commissioner Samkelisiwe Isabel Mhlanga, Algerian Ambassador Nasreddine Rimouche, Ugandan High Commissioner Stephen Mubiru, Russian Ambassador Valery Yermolov and Colombian Ambassador Victor Hugo Echeverri Jamaramillo.
Also present was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.
Also present were deputy of Foreign Affair Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin and Deputy Secretary General Bilateral Relations Misnistryof Foreign Affairs Datuk Ramlan Ibrahim. – BERNAMA
