KANGAR – Four members of the Geng Pak Din Canai gang which is notorious for robberies, burglaries and car theft have been nabbed by aÂ special task force set up by Perlis police.
One of them was a pregnant woman.
Perlis deputy police chief ACP Noor Mushar Muhammad said the success was possible following a police report by the wife of a grocery shop owner in Kuala Perlis on Dec 18.
He said the pregnant woman had pretended to ask if there were any houses for rent in the area before her accomplices barged in and escaped with RM1,000.
The suspects, aged from 24 to 34 years, were rounded up on Dec 24, he told a press conference here today.
In LANGKAWI, three jobless men suspected to be drug peddlers were nabbed in an early morning raid today.
Langkawi police chief Supt Dr Che Ghazali Che Awang said all three were “high” when police pounced on the suspects, aged from 25 to 31 years, at the entrance of a house.
He added that police seized 132.5 grammes of heroin, 0.1 gram of syabu, 0.4 gram of cannabis and RM13,362 from the suspects.
In KOTA BAHARU, Pasir Puteh police chief DSP Abdu Rozak Muhammad (rpt: Abdu Rozak Muhammad) said police rounded up seven men, aged 18 to 39 years, suspected to be involved in car theft and burglaries in an overnight operation. – BERNAMA
