GUA MUSANG – A Malaysian and three Indonesians were killed after their car was involved in a head-on collision with another that had hit a cow at Km10 Jalan Gua Musang-Kuala Krai yesterday.
Another Malaysian in the Proton Iswara car was badly injured while a couple in the other car, a Toyota Camry, were slightly injured, Gua Musang Police chief Supt Saiful Bahri Abdullah said today.
He said the dead were the driver of the Proton Iswara, Ibrahim Mohd Beridin, 52, who was from Kuala Tembeling, Jerantut, Pahang, and Supandi, 21, Ahmad Haikal, 31, and Safriyadi, 28, of Lombok, Indonesia.
The badly injured passenger, Saaban Mustakin, 54, from Nibong Tebal, Penang, had been admitted to the Gua Musang Hospital, he told reporters here.
Saiful Bahri said the Camry with Jayapalan Balaraman, 58, who was driving, and his wife Nageswary Nagamuthu, 52, was headed from Gua Musang to Kota Baharu when it hit a cow at about 7.30pm and collided with the Iswara.
He said Ibrahim’s body was claimed by the family at 8am for burial in Kampung Kuala Tembeling, Jerantut.
The bodies of the Indonesians were being kept at the Gua Musang Hospital mortuary and the Indonesian embassy would be notified, he added. – BERNAMA
