YALA – Three people were confirmed killed , while at least eight others were injured, when a bomb exploded in a market at Thailand’s southern Yala province today.
Yala police chief Maj Gen Krisada Jandee , who confirmed the incident, said the bomb exploded at teh busy Pimonchai market, located in the centre of Yala town.
“Two of the victims were killed at the scene, while the other died at a hospital,” he told reporters here.
The number of injured victims is expected to increase.
The unrest in southern Thailand, especially in the Yala, Pattani dan Narathiwat provinces began in 2000 and has since claimed the lives of more than 7,000 people and thousands were injured. – BERNAMA
