KUALA LUMPUR – A couple and their seven-month old daughter died in an accident involving three vehicles at Km 6.2 Duke Highway, here, at about 1.05 am today.
The victims were identified as Fairuz Nizam Husain, 35, his wife Nova Safitri Azhari, 25, and their daughter, Nur Firuza Annisa.
Fairuz who was driving a Pajero vehicle died at the scene while his wife and daughter succumbed to their injuries at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Legal staff officer, DSP S Markandan said the accident happened when a Myvi car on the fast lane hit the Pajero which was on the middle lane.
“After the collision, the Pajero veered to the left and crashed into another Myvi which was on the left lane.
“The victim lost control of his vehicle causing the Pajero to spin and the driver and passengers were thrown onto the road,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
One of the Myvi drivers Siti Noor Aini Mohd Said, 35, sustained light injuries while the other, Mohammad Fizal Reza Jamaludidin, 31, escaped unhurt.
He said police were also investigating into claims that the accident was allegedly caused by six Myvi cars racing on the Duke Highway including the two cars involved. – BERNAMA
