SHAH ALAM – Twenty three people from one family including six children were made homeless after their half-brick house near Sungai Jati roundabout in Kampung Jawa, Klang near here was destroyed in a fire today.

Seri Andalas Fire and Rescue station chief, Assistant Superintendent A. Romzi Abu said the station received a call on the incident at 12.42pm and brought the blaze under control at 1.33pm.

“Initial investigations found the fire could have started from activities in the house itself,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Romzi said in the incident, most of the victims were out to work and there were only three or four people in the house who were rescued by firemen.

Apart from that, he said investigations also found the class B house was believed to be built on private land and did not have any fire safety features. – BERNAMA
