23 Injured In Singapore MRT Train Accident

SINGAPORE – An SMRT train knocked into a stationary train at the Joo Koon MRT station today, resulting in 23 passengers getting injured, according to the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

SCDF said it was informed of the accident at 8.33am. “SCDF resources are at the scene attending to the injured,” it said in a post on its Facebook page.

The injured passengers had already been sent to hospitals, SCDF said, adding that many of them sustained minor injuries.

The Joo Koon MRT station is on the East-West Line. — Bernama
