PUTRAJAYA – The 2017 Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examination achieved a higher Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.76, the best so far since the introduction of the modular STPM in 2013, it was announced here today.
The 2016 CGPA was 2.71, said Malaysian Examinations Council chairman Prof Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak.
He said the CGPA of 2.76 was a significant improvement in all the criteria used to gauge the achievement.
However, he added, the percentage of candidates who garnered a CGPA of 4.00 dropped by 0.18 per cent compared to 2016.
“A total of 485 candidates of the 2017 STPM garnered a CGPA of 4.00, down to 1.13 per cent from the 565 (1.31 per cent) in 2016,” he said when announcing an analysis of the results here. – BERNAMA
