REMBAU – Police detained a man and a teenage girl who are believed to have been involved in snatch theft and robberies in three districts in the state, here, since May this year.
Rembau police chief DSP Ibrahim Sharif said the male suspect, aged 22, and the teenage girl, 17, were detained at a condominium in Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson at about 7.20am last Wednesday.
“Both suspects were in the condominium when police arrived but both tried to escape by climbing down the balcony. However, the girl lost her grip and fell from the fifth floor of the condominium and slipped into coma while the male suspect also suffered head injuries and two broken arms.
“Investigations revealed that both the suspects from Rembau, were actively involved in criminal activities, including stealing motorcycles, in Rembau, Port Dickson and Seremban,” he said here Monday.
Both are receiving treatment at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban.
Ibrahim said among stolen items recovered were 16 wallets, 12 handbags, three sweaters, a motorcycle, six hand phones and 13 phone ‘sim’ cards.
Apart from the duo, police also detained five other individuals, aged between 18 and 25, who were in the same condominium when police arrived.
“Of the five detained, four tested positive for heroin while a 20-year-old woman was released,” he said. – BERNAMA
