2 Killed After Car Skids And Hits Telephone Pole In Sri Aman

SRI AMAN – Two people were killed in an early morning accident at KM31 of Jalan Sri Aman-Serian today.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations, Tiong Ling Hii said the driver of the Perodua Axia car, Sultan Untang, 43, and the front passenger Romualdo Alim, 18, died at the scene.

The incident also left three other passengers, Michael Robert, 22, Robert Maxson, 18, and Donna Putra, 18, sustaining minor injuries, he said in a statement here today.

He said the incident occurred about 7am after the car carrying five people skidded before hitting a telephone pole, causing both Sultan and Romualdo to be trapped in the car.

Ling Hii said the firemen managed to remove the victims using the rescue tool before the bodies were released and handed over to the police for further arrangements. – BERNAMA
