SEPANG – Police nabbed two students from private institutions of higher learning (IPTS) on suspicion of selling ganja.
The students, aged 18 and 21, from the same IPTS in Cyberjaya were believed to be selling ganja packed in small transparent plastic packets at RM50 each to other students.
Sepang district deputy police chief Supt Baharuddin Mat Taib said the first suspect, aged 21, was arrested at 5.10pm on Monday with two packets of ganja in the pocket of his pants.
This led to the arrest of the second suspect at an IPTS hostel in Cyberjaya, Baharuddin told reporters here today.
According to him, while in the hostel room, the first suspect handed over to the police a tin containing 45 transparent plastic packets containing suspected slabs of dry compressed ganja estimated to weigh 210 grammes.
“The duo are believed to be involved in drug trafficking for about seven to eight months at the IPTS,” he said.
Baharudin said both suspects tested positive for ganja and have been remanded for seven days starting from yesterday to Sept 25. – BERNAMA
