SEREMBAN – Two people were killed and one was seriously injured in an accident involving a car and a bus in Jempol, this morning.
In the 7.15am incident at Jalan Serting Hulu, the driver and a passenger of the car, both in their 30s, were pronounced died at the scene by a medical officer.
Bandar Sri Jempol Fire and Rescue Station operations officer Mohd Fahmi Abdullah said the accident occurred when the bus, with no passenger on board, swerved onto the opposite lane before colliding with an oncoming Ford Telstar which was carrying three men.
“A 19-member team of firemen rushed to the scene and took 45 minutes to remove the victims who were stuck in the driver and front passenger seats.
“The car is believed to be on its way to Simpang Pertang, Jelebu while the bus was from Simpang Pertang to Batu Kikir, Kuala Pilah. The bus driver escaped uninjured,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
The bodies of the dead victims and the injured passenger were taken to Jempol Hospital, he said. – BERNAMA
