SEREMBAN – Thirteen 1Malaysia Civil Servant Housing (PPA1M) projects offering 6,400 houses have been approved to be developed in Negeri Sembilan, according to Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
The 14th PPA1M project, which is to be developed specifically in Bandar Baru Sendayan, offering 360 units of single- and double-storey terrace houses, is now in the process of obtaining approval from the 1Malaysia Public Civil Servant Housing Unit chaired by the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.
Mohamad said from the 6,400 houses, 161 were 100 per cent completed, while another 4,000 were expected to be ready in another two years.
“Right now, the developers are in the midst of cleaning the sites and in a year or two, I anticipate thousands of PPA1M houses to be available in Negeri Sembilan,” he said this to reporters here today.
Mohamad said the PPA1M projects in the state would mostly be implemented in Seremban, Nilai, Port Dickson and Jelebu.
Meanwhile, the menteri besar also proposed for the drawing of lots for new PPA1M houses to be localised, and not just being held in Putrajaya.
“This is to prevent anxiety and the feeling of being sidelined among the civil servants at state level,” he said.
Earlier, Mohamad presented the house keys to 20 owners of PPA1M houses in Taman Berlian here.
The construction of the semi-detached single-storey houses began in May 2015 and was completed in November 2016.
Also present were State Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Jalaluddin Alias, State Assembly Speaker Datuk Dr Awaluddin Said and State Secretary Datuk Seri Mat Ali Hassan. – BERNAMA
