IPOH – A total of 133 squatters in Buntong have received their respective house-lot under the organised village plan (RPT) in Bemban, Batu Gajah, according to Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
He said the federal government had approved an allocation of RM5 million to provide various infrastructure and facilities to ensure comfort of the residents in the area.
“For those who have received the house-lot, measuring between 4,000 and 4,600 sq ft, they can start building their house. Today’s hand-over ceremony involved only the recipients in the first phase,” he told a press conference after presenting the offer letter for the house-lot to the residents at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building here today.
The menteri besar also expressed hope that the house-lot given to the squatters would not be manipulated as it was part of the state government’s efforts and aspiration to help the people.
“It’s not just because they are squatters, but it is also our resettlement effort to provide comfort to the people in line with the rising population,” he said. – BERNAMA
