126 People Arrested For Breaking Curfew Hour Law

Well the fuzz certainly has their way in ruining an otherwise perfect night out in town.

In Sabah, police have detained 126 individuals for violating the curfew hour since it was enforced at six districts under the Eastern Sabah Safety Zone (Esszone) last year.

The state’s police commissioner Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said 86 people had been charged in court for various offences under Section 31 (2) of the Police Act 1967.

The 7pm to 5am curfew is currently in its 13th phase and is scheduled to end on Thursday.

Jalaluddin however announced the curfew would be extended until Feb 24 following security threats in the east coast of Sabah.

The dusk to dawn curfew was enforced on July 12, 2014 as measure to combat intrusion and kidnapping incidents particularly in the Esszone.
