JELEBU: Twelve PAS leaders have announced their decision to quit the party following its decision to sever ties wth the DAP.
Led by division Youth chief Mohd Faizal Fadli Idris, the group included its election director Saiful Bahri Jaaman and several branch leaders .
Mohd Faizal said they decided to quit as PAS had reneged on its promise to work with the DAP and PKR as planned during the formation of Pakatan Rakyat in 2008.
“By doing so, PAS has dug its own grave and can forget about capturing Putrajaya,” he said.
Asked if they had plans to join another political party, Mohd Faizal said they had yet to decide on this.
“But let me make it clear that we will never join Umno or Barisan Nasional ,” he said.
Asked if they would reconsider joining PAS if it made a U-turn and agrees to continue working with the DAP, Mohd Faizal said:
“After seeing the way the recent PAS muktamar was held, we have decided not to rejoin PAS under the current leadership.”
