KUALA LUMPUR: Global e-commerce marketplace 11street expects its e-mall sales to increase by 30 to 35 per cent this upcoming festive season, said Chief Executive Officer Hoseok Kim.
Kim said an online survey, the Ramadhan Spending Survey 2016, which aimed to provide a better understanding of Malaysians’ expenses as Hari Raya approaches, shows more than 95 per cent of Malaysians are positive about online shopping,
“As Hari Raya approaches, we are expecting more people to turn to online shopping in the interest of convenience and time,” he told reporters after a briefing on the survey findings here today.
Over 60 per cent of the respondents indicated their intention to save for Hari Raya with the rising cost of living, he noted.
“Rising cost can also be translated as increased spending during the festive period, since the need to celebrate remains a priority.
“At 11street we plan to give a lot of promotions and great products to consumers without putting too much strain on the wallet,” he added.
Kim said 11street’s ‘Manis Ramadhan, Meriah Lebaran’ campaign offers up to 90 per cent discounts and RM10 milion worth of coupon giveaways.
The survey of 2,062 respondents was conducted by 11street and a publication from May 16 to June 6.
