ALOR SETAR – A 10-month-old baby suffering from heart disease needs public help to pay for the cost of an oxygen machine set estimated to cost RM10,000.
Muhammad Rayyan Mikail Mohd Yazid from Kampung Padang Gelanggang, Kuala Nerang, has been suffering from complex cyanotic heart disease and chronic lungs since he was two weeks old.
(Cyanotic heart disease is a group type of congenital heart defect)
His mother, Annur Syakirah Mahazir, 20, said she realised her baby’s face was always bluish, and upon sending him to the Kuala Nerang Hospital, it was discovered he suffered from viral infection.
“He was referred to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in January and the doctor confirmed he has complex cyanotic heart disease and chronic lungs.
“In March, he underwent an operation to enlarge his respiratory channels at the National Heart Institute,” she said when met today.
Annur Syakirah said her son currently depended on an oxygen machine for normal breathing but her husband, an odd-job worker earning RM900 a month, could neither afford it nor other necessities like special milk and disposable diapers.
The public can send their donations through Annur Syakirah’s CIMB bank account (7057753680) or contact her at tel: 010-3787883. – BERNAMA
