MELAKA – Melaka police have busted the Jambu Gang comprising 10 individuals, including a former lecturer who is the mastermind of a car loning, grant and fake road tax syndicate, following several arrests in the state since Sept 3.
Its chief Datuk Ramli Din said police first arrested the 28-year-old former lecturer at a two-storey bungalow in Taman Paya Rumput Perdana here.
“Police also seized from him nine forged car grants believed to be for cloned cars. Nine other syndicate members were arrested in stages,” he told the media at the Melaka contingent police headquarters here today.
Following the arrests, police also seized two cloned cars – a Toyota Wish in Penang and a Toyota Vios in Terengganu believed to be brought in from a neighbouring country. – BERNAMA
